when to start applying for waiver

Hello Friends,

I got one year research scholar job in a health org. They are sponsoring J1visa for one year. I just want to know can I immediately apply for waiver after I join in job. My start date is on 0ct 15th or I have to wait for some months. I have no Idea when I have to start. Can start in November?

Please let me know what is the correct time to start waiver as I am having only one year visa. So I should complete everything in one year.

Yes you can start applying for a waiver immediately after you start you J1. Obtaining a waiver takes about 3 months to even a year. So better start early.
