when to expect any activity on my 485?

I have heard that changing jobs one EAD is approved, and 485 is pending for a while is fairly straightforward, but ideally I would like to get past my GC before changing jobs. Hence the questions. Am I wasting my time hoping to get GC anytime soon? When should I expect some activity on my applicatoin?

No one can expect any activity for himself or to the others. If PD is current, and every thing else is OK, the GC may be approved in few weeks or may stuck for many years or rven get denied for any simple or complex issue. Work with your EAD or visa, renew it in advance and if you can forget the GC application all together this will be better for you.
