when to apply for minor child's passport ?

Our citizenship oath has been scheduled for next month and my wife & I are planning to apply for our passports right after the oath.

My question is can we apply for our child's (10 year old) passport also along with ours or do we have to wait till we get our passports? We are not planning to file N-600 for the kid for now but want to get the passport asap.

You can apply for your child's US passport at the same time you apply for your US passport after the oath ceremony. Although, it's not required, but it's well advised to file N-600 for your child and get them the Certificate of Citizenship. That would be their last documentary proof of US citizenship, which s/he may need it 50 years from now. You should consider getting it now when the records are fresh.

But the instructions on the passport application form (DS-11) say that we need to attach US citizen parent's naturalization certificate to get the child's passport.

So, my question is in order to apply for our passports as well as our child's
passport on the same day, do we have to bundle all 3 applications
together (mine, my wife's and child's) ?
Any one has really done this ?
