When the 90 days starting date?

Hello everyone

I filed my first EAD on Aug 14th and still I don't have my EAD approval. USCIS issued a file number on Oct 10 and it shows the file is pending. My question is that when the 90 days rule starts? Is it Aug 14th or Oct 10?
