When is the starting date of citizenship?

Hi all:

My interview is set for November. Assuming it goes ok, does it mean I'm approved as citizen from that the day? If not, what day would be the beginning of being a citizen? I need to file for green card for relatives but not sure when I can do it.

When you take the oath which could a few weeks to months after the Interview date. Till you take the oath you are still a permanent resident.

It would be a pity for you to answer Yes to the question "Have you ever claimed to be a US citizen" on the day of your oath just because you were misinformed...
