When employment on L-1 is over

I would like to ask this: after my employment on L-1 is over (but the visa is still valid, not expired), how long can I stay in the US before departing? I want to make sure I am legal at any time.

Moreover, what are my responsibilities regarding immigration after I finish employment and stay in the US (visa still valid)?

Once you are off the payroll, your L-1 status is no longer valid.

You can either depart and hand over your L-1 based I-94 or you may apply for change of status to say B-2 if you have a genuine reason to do so.
