When does visa number alloted to I-485

Does any one have an idea when a visa number is allotted to an I-485. Is it when the case is opened for processing or at the time of approval.

Since i had a query on my I-485 in dec 2004 and nothing happened after replying to it also. So i was wondering whether a visa number is alloted to my case or not.

Visa #s are allotted only when the case is ready for the approval.

Till Oct 1st no one from EB3 category will be approved but case will be in progress like FP, RFE, name check etc..

Could you pl. let us know, what were the I485 RFEs? We would like to know more info. on your RFE

Did you apply concurrently I140 & I485 or you had applied 140 first then applied I485 later?

When you applied for I485, you might have given the Birth certificate affidavits, If so how many affidavts you were given and how many affidavits USCIS requires?

What are all other issues with birth certificate affidavits?

If you had filed I140 and I485 concurrently, I think your attorney might have given the employement letter? envn If your attorney provided the employment letter at the time of I485 application, why USCIS is asking one more time?

I'm try to apply for GC soon, that's why I'm asking all these questions. I hope you can guide me by providing more info on your RFEs

Ravi,

Does your case is EB2/EB3? If it is EB2, does your I485 got approved? Could you pl. reply for my request.

My case was EB3. I submitted 2 birth affidavits from parents. Also they asked for a letter from the employer that iam currently employed with them.
