when does the clock start ticking ?

hello,
H1 visa was stamped in India on April 27,1999
Came to the US on June 10,1999

Should I be counting the 6 years from April 27, 1999 or from when I actually came to the US - June 10,1999 ?

Left for India ( work related ) on Jan 28,2000
Retured back the US on Feb 20, 2000

Again Left for India ( work related ) on June 9,2000
Returned back to the US on June 19,2000

Can I recapture the days that I was out of the country ( work related ) which is approx. one month ?

What about the 1 month that I was out on behalf of my employer (work related ). Can I recapture that ?

I was on F1 practical training when my H1B was approved March 1999. I went to India and entered for the first time on H1B in Feb 2000. Does that mean my 6-year clock started only in Feb 2000?

Nope. You stared workling on H1 in March 99. So it would be March 99.
