When does application get transfered to DO?

Hi all,

At what step in the process do service centers send N-400 application/documents over to the district office to complete processing? I've seen another post say between all check are cleared and the time you receive interview letter. Can anyone confirm this?

The reason I ask is that a new district office is opening in my area next year which would save me the time and distance from having to go to the current district office.

Your file is transferred from SC to DO at the same as the SC schedules your interview. Most of the time this means your file arrives before you actually attend the interview, but occasionally things go missing, and that typically causes a "descheduled" notice if the file hasn't arrived a week or so prior to the date.

Hi,

I am one of the biggest examples. Was called not once but twice to appear for my interview at Atlanta DO but since the file was not transferred from the service center, they had to send me home without conducting an interview.

Hi guys - my question is this...

Should I be worried that on the USCIS system that the status still reads - pending? I have read on this forum where other people have said that their case "disappeared" when they got their IL - but I am not experiencing the disappearance thing when I check online. I am worried the case file has not yet been transferred to Atlanta and that my husband will be called for the interview and be turned away. I am thinking I have time to fix this - hopefully - based on the interview date.

Any suggestions on how to fix this????

Yes, it may happen. You never know but if I were you, I would think positive and let your husband appear for his interview. Hopefully the file should be there before his interview date. You can just hope for the best. Don't worry about this online status. If the status online doesn't change even after he gets his citizenship, I wouldn't be surprised.
