Hello Friends,
I'm waiting for an interview, I did fingerprints on 8/23
When will we see you invite me, what is the chance in December, what are the chances in January?

Thanks for answers

Atlanta is slow. I filed 6/29, fingerprints 7/26, in line for interview since 7/30. Received yellow letter 10/2.

People who filed in the latter part of May are starting to receive their letters, so I'm estimating another 3-4 weeks to receive my IL, and it will likely be scheduled for a month after I receive it.

Following that logic, you can probably expect to receive IL some time in December, with a January interview.

Might be sooner, might be later, but that seems to be the emerging pattern for the Atlanta office.

You say my interview will be in January, and I will get interview letter in December?
If I did the fingerprints on 8/23 When do you think I should end it all?

I'm waiting for the interview and test, so I understand the maximum time can be up to five months to finish everything, or am I mistaken??

Thank you for answers

Noami, going by submissions from many people that filed at the Atlanta District Office, it appears the process is very slow there. Just continue to be patient and you will get your interview date.

If by 11/23 you still haven't received an interview date, you may need to call USCIS or do an infoPass online.

Atlanta seems to be slower than most offices. What's your priority date? Have you checked your status online? If so, what does it say?

I've been in line for interview for over 3 months. I went for an infopass appointment on Oct. 31st. My personal concern was that my GC will expire soon, and I need to travel (next week) on a family matter. They happily stamped my passport to extend my GC status so I won't go 'illegal' before my N-400 process is completed.

Just be patient. The online status for me says if no IL is received within 90 days to call... it's well over that for me now. The man at the Infopass desk said that he's seeing May filers now, and that's consistent with postings on this and other sites from Atlanta filers receiving their letters.

Usually the letter arrives about a month before the interview date - give or take a few days.

You said you did your FP on 8/23, but have you been placed in line for interview yet? The background checks they do based on the FP can take from a few days to a few weeks or so. In my case, my status changed 4 calendar days (2 business days) after I had my FP done, to "in line".

I did receive a yellow letter on Oct. 2, dated Sept. 27th. At Infopass they told me that usually the interviews are scheduled not long after the YL goes out (but it's been over a month since my YL went out...). Not everyone receives a yellow letter.

Hope this info is helpful. Yes the 'goal' is 5 months' processing time but many of us wait longer than that in ATL. It's a busy office and they process a lot of applications there.

Thank you very much about the answer, I have one problem, I want to go winter break to visit my family, it dates 20 December to 6 January. And I am afraid that I'd have these dates ...

If I ask them to make me another interview date, how long will I wait with?

If they invite me in January it's best for me, what do you think the chances of my interview date will be in January, if I did the fingerprint on Aug 23. I live in Atlanta

I don't have a crystal ball - I have no idea. I just shared what I know of my own and others' timelines. Sorry.
