When do I need be in the US after I485 is submitted

I've looked around here but didn't see similar questions. I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance for your time.

I'm going to be on a long assignment abroad after my I485 is submitted next month. I'm wondering

1) when I have to be back. I know I need to be back for finger-printing, or maybe interview. Is there anything else that would require me to be back to the US?

2) which address the notice of finger-printing will be sent to. my attorney's office, my company address or my last residential address. Since I'm not keeping my apartment, can I use my company address as my last residential addess if that's where it's going to be sent.

3) Can I receive the FP and other notice online?

4) how much lead time they give people, ie how many days in advance they send out an FP notice. I need to know how flexible I need to be to travel back here.

5) how soon FP notice is sent out after they receive my I485 package. how likely is it within 3 weeks?

------------------ you did not post if you will be having valid H1 visa stamp or valid AP. if valid AP then be back before AP expires

--------------Your address that is on I-485 form and to your attorney.

------------- it depends. no fix rule. many who dont update USCIS of new address miss the FP notice. many who updated still did not got FP letter at new address and got notice that you did not go for finger printing and I-485 is denied.

Thanks Ginnu for your explanations.

I'll have to keep my H1 because I can't wait until AP is approved to leave for my assignment.

I'm in CA. So I assume I'll go with CSC.

I've contacted my attorney. I haven't heard back from her. Plus, I actually trust the opinions here more than my attorney's, for better or worst... :)
 
I got my FP notices approximately one week (actually 8-9 days) before FP apointment.
2nd FP came while I was in another state but I was lucky to already have a ticket to 'original' state with dates matching FP appointment...
 
airrabbit.......FP Notice is pretty much becoming 2-4 days before the appointment........and you have to get it rescheduled otherwise they consider your 485 abandoned....

Usually you have 13 weeks time before they say Abandoned. Usually you can go next or subsequent week same day of the appointment and get it done. This is my personal experience. I did my FP 7 weeks after the actual date of appointment.

Thanks for your replies. It seems to vary. I guess I have to prepare for the worst - reschedule.
Do you guys know if people can get to choose a date when they reschedule?

------------------you cant choose a date. They give you the date. when you send letter for resheduling let the lawyer send the letter for resheduling and keep record that he sent letter

Buffalo NY. I did not take any new appointment.

it looks like your I-131 was approved pretty quickly - how soon after that did you receive it in the mail? What is your local office?

do you mind sharing a more detailed timeline of your dealings with the Buffalo office?
