When do I get the naturalization certificate?

My oath is in Boston on Jan 8th. Will I get the naturalization ceritificate during the ceremony?

If I don't get it during the ceremony, is there any way to get USCIS to expedite delivery of this certificate (I am putting off some urgent business travel till after the oath).

Thanks

Yes, you get it during the ceremony. Apply for the expedited passport immediately after getting the certificate. Remember that the certificate is not a travel document. You will need a US passport.

Took an interview at passport office in Boston

I've taken an interview at the passport office in Boston. I see from another post that you've had a similar experience. Based on this, is it safe to assume that I'll get my passport on the same day?

Thanks again

Actually, I am still waiting for my interview. As far as getting the passport the same day, you will have to do the following:

1. Get the passport form before hand and fill it out.
2. Get the necessary photos before hand.
3. Get your tickets/itenerary before hand. It is crucial to have this if you need same day passport.
4. Go to your oath and get your certificate.
5. Go to the nearest regional passport office and apply for expedited passport. It costs more. Submit passport form, photos, travel documents and the Naturalization Certificate.
6. You will get your passport the same day. It takes about 4 hours.

I do not know the regional passport office in Boston. I am from Baltimore.

Someone else can help you with that.

Oops, sorry!

Sorry, I had you confused with somebody else (should always check before citing - I forgot :-)

Thanks for your help. I'll post an update once I'm done with it.

485 forever, please share your experience at the Boston passport agency after your appointment there. Also post whether you received old style or the new e-passport and whether you received your passport same day or not. Thanks.
