I didn't manage to find an answer to my question in the previous posts about I-131. Need your help!
So, if I am filing concurrently I-130/I-485 and attaching I-131 as well, what is the timeline going to be like: When will I be able to use the I-131 form to travel? Does I-131 usually get approved before/after the interview / I-485 approval?
Is it used to travel by those who already have a conditional GC or who are waiting for the deicision on their I-485?
Is it difficult to get approval on I-131? My reason for filing it would be: employer insists on me filing it so I could go to work abroad after my current EAD expires in June, to avoid the gap in employment. From what I saw, most people file I-131 for family reasons (family wedding, sickness etc). Does work abroad constitute a valid reason?
Honestly, I don't feel like filing I-131 and leaving the US before I have at least some part of my application approved. I don't want to leave my husband either, even for a few months! but I'd like to know what my rights are so I could be more educated when I speak with the employer... Thank you!
