When can i start job on H1B

hi,

i have a sponsor who wants to file my H1B petetion on 1 April 2011. He says that if visas are available then i will be able to start the job immediately......

according to my knowledge the visa will become available from 1 april 2011 but jobs can be started only from 1st october 2011.

please help

-------------------If H1 gets approved and you get H1 visa stamp(I hope you are out of US) then you will be able to work from 1st October 2011. employer gave you wrong info. if he is Desi employer then don't believe him and don't pay him for H1.

I agree with Ginnu. But an exception would be if you ever had an H1B visa before, and changed your status later...! In such a case, you can start working as soon as your current H1B petition gets approved.
