When can I apply H4 for my wife and daughter?

Hi,

I am in india currently and have applied for a fresh H1B in may 2006 from an employer in USA. I have also received receipt number EAC from Vermont Center for my application saying that my application has reached them on May 13th 2006 and is in process.
I am married 2 years ago, and we have a daughter now. But I have not submitted any of the family (dependants) related documents along with my H1 application due to some reasons and also I did not want to miss the cut-off dates.

Please clarify me the following, If I want to apply H4 for my wife and daugther:

1. Since my application is in process now, What is the good time to apply for them? Is there a way to take my family too for visa interview when I attend? If so what is the additional process do I need to take care of?

2. Or is it that I will have to get my H1 first and then apply H4 for them in the next fiscal year?

Any suggestions on this are highly appreciated.

------------ one you get H1 approval letter and go for visa stamping at that time all your dependents can apply gor H4 visa stamp
