I saw a lot of people have subject status. I'm wondering why they asked for that?

I had 2 minor traffic tickets. Are they going to verify driver record based on Driver License?

If State ID/Driver's License is a requirement, why they don't ask for it on application instruction?

some people get a yellow letter (that paper its printed on is actually yellow). not everyone gets this though and i think i got it because i moved just before i submitted my application.

The yellow letter is just a pre-interview notice and it lists the documents you need to bring to your interview. You will receive your interview notice most likely in the near future. As the above poster pointed out, some do receive this yellow letter, some not and it is nothing to be alarmed if you receive it or if you do not receive it. It has nothing to do if you moved recently or not.

They ask for State ID/Driver's License just as another proof of identification during the interview. It is very standard procedure, I received it as well. It is not for checking your DMV records. The interviewing officer will check your green card and driver's license for identification purposes.

Thank you for all your replies.

Just want to add one more question.... my address on D/L shows my last address, not most current one, will it be a problem? (Same County of course)

I would update the driver's license ASAP. You need to do it anyway.

You must update your address with the DMV, but you need not get a new card. You can probably amend your DL yourself, on the back.

Yes. I've updated my address with DMV long time ago. They have my new address on record.

I just did not choose to request a new DL with updated address printed on it. In NYS, I think I can just write my new address on the back of my DL.

yes, i updated my address with the DMV as well but chose not to get a new driver's licence (didn't want to spend the $17 when i will probably move again in a year or so). i don't think it should be a problem at all. i printed out the 'update address' sheet from the DMV when i did it online to show that i followed up with the DMV.

But you still have to register the address change with the DMV.
