WHAT'S the 2ND FP?

hi, I've read several discussions here about receiving 2nd FP,
I don't really understand why and under which situation 2nd FP
will be received? Could somebody explain it to me ?

When did your first FP expire? How much time did it take to get the notice for 2nd FP?
My first FP expired on Sept. 27 but not 2nd FP notice yet.

trisam, it depends on BCIS when you will receive the 2nd FP notice. It is highly unpredictable.

FP1 Mar 2002
RFE June 2003
FP2 Aug 2003

Thanks for your replies. Frantic is right that it is not easy to predict when I will get the 2nd FP notice. Harapattawaiter, you were really lucky to get the 2nd FP notice soon after your 1st FP expired. I wish good luck to both of you for early approval.

I am wondering if I should apply for AP to trigger my 2nd FP notice.

Sometimes enquiry or contacting congress representative or renewing EAD/AP seem to have triggered movements on some cases.
