I went for an interview this morning and CIS officer asked only for a copy of our marriage certificate even though the appointment letter asked me to provide copies of W2, employment letter etc for me and my wife.
Here is the strange twist. Only I had applied for AOS not for my wife. She is on H1 visa and trying thru EB. Lookslike, when they ran background check it came back as married and CIS sent me to local office for an interview. Continuing on the story, CIS officer said he approved the case, took my index finger print & signature in the same form and said I will hear from Nebraska. What is next? Do you think I will get another interview where they will stamp my passport or this is it and I will get the GC in mail?

Congratulations you almost there. I don't know why they didn't stamp the passport or issue a temp GC but probably they will notify to appear again...
 
I think is up to you if you show them the passport they will stamp it or you can just say you don't have the passport (expired...) and they will ask for pics and issue a temp GC...

I think they would send you a notice to appear at LO If the passport is exp take two photos with you (check new req for photos) but I still don't understand why thy didn't do the temp on the first appointment..
 
Not sure about the temp card. He said I will hear from Nebraska. But he took index finger print and signature on the same form. Isn't it for temp card?

Fingerprint and signature is for both temp and perm GC. Maybe they changed the way the issue the temp One thing is for sure you're approved and will get a GC...
