Hi, friends,

My online status for I-130 petition for my wife was updated today and it's approved.
My question is what's next step I should do? My wife is living abroad. Should I send visa application to National center in USA or US embassy abroad?

Thanks

BL

Typically you don't need to do anything yet. The service center will mail you the approval notice and at the same time transfer the case to NVC. In due time (a month or two) the NVC will send you a letter asking for $70 cashiers check for Affidavit of Support fee. In parallel with this, they will also mail a letter to your wife, asking her to appoint an agent to receive correspondence on her behalf.

Further down the line, you will receive instructions to download, fill out and return the affidavit of support, and subsequently, a request for $380 fee for the immigrant visa processing.

...and so it continues, until the case moves to the assigned consulate.

K-3

Hi boatbod

Thank you very much for the answer.

Another question is:
Can my wife apply for K-3 nonimmigration visa during the waiting?
I couldn't find K-3 visa type in US embassy website in my wife's country.
Does K-3 visa can only be applied in some specific countries?

Thanks again

considering that the immigrant visa processing fee is going to be increased from $380... can we pay that in advance/upfront? along with I130 app or something?
