Whats happening in NSC

NSC is slow, but according to Rupnet numbers...

... VSC is not fast either, as the comparisons are cited.

If you consider the rate of approvals for year 2001 (which I have been following since July last year), it seems to have picked up (ONLY TO SLOW DOWN TO A SCREECHING HALT, RECENTLY).

However, VSC rate has not picked up as much as NSC.

Since July NSC approvals to applications has increased from about 19% to > 61% now. Where as VSC has increased from about 25% to about 60% now. [Compare that to TSC - from 19 % to aobut 22% now and CSC 40% to about 57% now].

Definitely not to say that processing in past months has come to a near halt. No one (to my knowledge) seems to know why.

StillWaiting....

Just spoke to an IIO ...

... on the new 800 number.

She told me that it is taking 22 months now.

I thought that they were to transfer to centrallized phone system starting June!

but on the new BCIS site, where we check the status, there is 800 number given (800-375-5283) and I could reach an IIO. She could not give me more information on the case (I would guess as much)!

StillWaiting....

check out congress.gov and senate.gov. You'll find the name and contact information of the senators from your state and congressperson from your district. If you want to write to more people, find out the name of your local mayor, your governor, even the secretary of state. Even if one of them shows interest in your case, you're good I was lucky to have been contacted via letter by senator debbie stabenow's office in michigan pledging that they will contact the BCIS on my behalf. This was a week ago but at least I feel that I have done something rather than just wait and moan.

guys, we have to be proactive, especially those of us who have already waited the required 480 days. We need to contact people who aren't used to immigration related complaints. All the members of the immigration commitee in the senate and congress are probably sick of receiving hundreds of petitions or demands. But other folks like governors, state senators will show interest because it is a new hurdle for them and maybe they aren't even aware of this excruciatingly slow process.

hope this helps. :>
