What will be the starting date of my renewed visa if i renew it before expiration?

I am currently on H1(working) visa. My visa will expire in Dec.2008.I am planning to visit my home country in July 2008. I would complete 3 years 2 months of stay on H1 visa in July 2008. If I get my visa stamped at that time(July2008) then what will be the starting date of my renewed visa? And will that visa will be for the remaining period of 2 years 10 months out of 6 years?

The start date mentioned in the new approval notice (of the extension petition) is the date after the last day of old approval notice. It is okay to get the visa stamped anytime later than 10 days to the start day mentioned in the new approval notice. In all cases, you will get the visa valid upto the date mentioned in the approval notice.
