Me and my family are going to India in early June. Me and my daughter are natural born U.S. citizens with US pp's, my wife is a green card holder with a valid Indian pp. I applied for an OCI card for my daughter on April 13th 2010 and still do not know the status of her application. The NY consulate called me to send scanned images of my daughters u.s. pp and my wife's green card [checking her immigration status], which i did, and they replied with a received acknowledgment. I tried to check her status online but they system keeps asking me for a file acknowledgment number, which I do not have. I only have a ref#USANI1792110 number. And just yesterday I received an email from the consulate stating that most of the applications, if not all filed up to April 30th are completed. So my question is this: 1. How can I check the status online with just using a ref# without having a file acknowledgment number?, 2. Is there anyway to obtain a tourist visa for my daughter while her OCI application is still in process?
