What to do after name clearance?

Hi there,

I got a reply from my congressman saying the FBI completed the name check and the results were forwarded to the USCIS Headquarters, Washington, DC.

I wonder if you guys out there experience the same thing like me. Should I get any formal approval letter from USCIS Headquarter? Will they submit the result to USCIS local office? Normally how long will it take? At least what do I have to do now? Anyone knows? Thanks !!!

bdar,

Congratulations on getting over yet another of the many hurdles in the process. I wish I could give you answers to some of your questions, but all I've got is more questions...as there are many of us in the same situation you're in and few who report getting the confirmation from a congressional rep that you have gotten.

When was your interview?
When did you initiate contact with your congressman?
If you know, who did your congressman contact at FBI?

My wife and I had our interview with approval pending the completion of name check on Aug 4 of this year. I wrote our congressman the following day regarding our frustration with the name chack issue (the entire family immigration process in general really) and requested his help. We've not yet heard from him.

Thanks for posting your success. And good luck through the remainder of your process, we must be getting close to the end by now.

lardbird,

Thank you. The interview was in Jan 2005. Regarding the congressman, you have to contact your congressman in the state where you are in. From what I notice the response time will vary from person to person. Hope this will help. Good luck.
