A prank

Why do I get this feeling that you are having fun with the forum?

Are you for real about Hawaii?

I gave everything. They also asked me for my I485 receipt date. I don't know what I am gonna do now. I have to wait for few more months until they fix all that. I really wanted to have some good news for you and all of us, but unfortunately it was a mistake. Do you know if a asylum needs a travel document to go to Hawai, or you can go with a regular ID card?

also curious about puerto riico

hawaii i know it's not a problem, but puerto riico is not a u.s. state. i was planning to go there. do we a rtd to go there?

My apologies

I did not mean to confuse you. You seem to be intelligent enough not to ask some of the questions.

I find it hard to believe that the high school drop outs who man the 1-800 number will have the intelligence to ask you to surrender your RTD. I will be surprised if they even know about the one year rule.

It is not your duty to correct the screw up of the INS. If you have not committed fraud, have filed in a proper application and your document is valid for three years, then your document is valid for three years! They can not hassle or penalize you for their own screw up.

Damn, I called USCIC and I don't know why I did it. I want to rip my tongue out now. It was a mistake they want me to send it back now, and will issued a new one with the correct date - for one year only. I am so pissed I should have kept it without questioning their motives. I am sorry guys for giving you hopes and confuse you. I should have called USCIC first and then tell you. My RD was 01/03/2005, AD 02/15/2005. I received it on feb. 19, 2005. It was really fast, but the rest of my family are still waiting on theirs and they have the same RDs. Go figure!
Did not we tell you not to do it? For once, we need to take advantage of their incompetence!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Puerto Rico

My question again:

Has any asylee gone to Puerto Rico?

If yes, used only ID or RTD?

Thanks, Cl_Asylee

Be careful!! I remeber long time ago coming from Puerto Rico to Continental US, officers asked me for my passport and visa, at that time I was not an asylee, I was travelling with tourist visa, I was not even living in the US.
