Hi Guys:
I have been a silent reader of the posts on this forum.

My EAD is expiring on 26th FEB and have applied for another renewal and have 9th Dec(Notice Date). I was planning of going to the SFO INS on 24th Feb to try my luck out.

I had recently switched jobs using AC21 and had applied for RFE. My lawyer refrains from helping me out and he is kind of always expecting additional money.

I was wondering what are the things i need to take with me to the INS office for getting my iEAD.

Help appreciated - Silly man,Taj india,etc.... any comments appreciated.

I would say take all docs in original and photocopy of each.

- 2 photos which fits INS requirement with A# and name written with pencil on back.
- A check $120.00(though form says $88) for I-765 renewal fee made in the name of "Immigration and naturalization service". But check actual fee in the form
- Original Form I-797 D (from last EAD), every notice comes from INS is on I-797. Don't confuse with I-765
- I-765 Renewal Application
- A copy of last EAD(front and back)
- A copy of Form I-94 Departure Record(front and back)
- A copy of I-485 Receipt Notice
- A copy of last I-765 Receipt Notice and latest Receipt notice.
- Marriage Cetificate for secondary applicant
- Proof of current residence, e.g. utlity bill or lease agreement.
- Passport
- last few paystubs (INS wont ask but it is better to play extra safe)

GCvij,

I'm afraid what the list of items Vipsha has mentioned is for applying for EAD renewal and not really the documents required for obtaining an interim EAD.

What you'll need for iEAD are:

Your original EAD renwal receipt notice.
Your original EAD card.
Copy of I-485 receipt notice.
Passport.

You might also want to carry a copy of your old EAD receipt notice/approval notice if you have one but is not really necessary.

I'll be trying to get an iEAD this wednesday as my case is similar to yours and this will be my second iEAD.

Goodluck

I know some of the docs may not be required but it is better to have all the docs, And collecting all these docs are not so difficult. It is an extra step towards safety. Why to give any chance to stupid INS ?
Afterall you can not say anything to INS. So it is better to have all the docs and show if needed.

Could you please let me know what your experience is as i was planning to go to the INS on the 10th of FEB to try my luck out.

Thankx

I agree!!!

Hey GC

I agree with Vipsha that some of the documents that were mentioned are not necessary but does not hurt to take them.

I will be going to SFO to get my IEAD as well... May be we can touch base with each other. We can tell more about each other's case..

Mine is little complex as my AP expires on 14th feb. SO I am in a quandry whether to go before 14th or is it Ok to go after 14th as I will be trying the "BEFORE 90DAYS". The forum has given me the boost to give it a shot.

Why don't you send me an email and also post your experience on the 10th....

;)

Need your Input....

Hey The WHO

It will be nice if you can post your experience at SFO for an IEAD.

Thanks
