I know this is a wonderful forum of all experienced guys and geeks. I just got my receipt number for EB1-EA.

WHAT NEXT.

How do I check my status.

I am a novice in this area. Please advise.

I have seen a list of suffixes after the login names in this forum

How do you find out RD, AD, LUD etc.rolleyes:

Pl. teach me GURUS.

With your receipt # setup an online account with USCIS.
You can add case # and delete too if they are approved. You can also get email notifications on your cases as and when you have LUD,,,opps!
So the terminology first.
RD: Receipt date ( Date when USCIS received your application)
ND: Notice date ( Date when you are official into the USCIS system with a case #, usually this will be around the receipt, I insist "usually")
AD: Approval date ( When you case is approved, most often you will know about his in couple of years, by then you will a "GURU" too. Just kidding you might be the fastest ever approved case on the face of this country)
LUD: Last updated date ( Most often used instrument in analyzing you case progress, but not a lot can you tell about any case based on LUD, but good enough to understand the progress of your case)

I did get a fingerprinting notice. What does that mean?

Yes both are same. If you get your FP (finger printing), then you are in the system. Do a search on the FP notice on this site, you will understand what are code 1, 2, and 3.
