What letter you might be getting from immigration while you're away?

I wonder, what letters may USCIS mail you, while you're out on your long stay abroad. I was applying and successfully got re-entry permit. My friend in the U.S. , who is receiving mail for me, told me I got like 4 different letters from the immigration. He could only remember they were sth like notification - nothing serious - so he trashed them.

So I don't know what those letters were exactly, but do you thing they were serious? Important to keep? My friend got them at the same time or little bit later after I already picked up my reentry permit at the consulate abroad.

I'm a little paranoid person - I just hope they weren't sth like "We issued your reentry permit in error, so this is notification it's invalid, ...". :)

If you're permanent resident and you are not requesting anything from USCIS, you shouldn't be getting anything. Am I right?

Correct, if nothing is wrong and you're not applying for anything you shouldn't get anything from them.

However, Hannah7 applied for a reentry permit. So it would be logical to expect something, but 4 documents is unusual.

Tell your friend not to ever throw away any of your immigration-related mail again.
