what ispublic intoxication and its effects

Hello All

My name is ravi I am arrested and put in jail for three hours for public intoxication and later released .They gave me 90 days probation period and should not get any sort of tickets through out US and also said that case will be dismissed .I am on CPT now and i am worried as will it effect my future in any way?? H1 stamping greenc ard etc and problems in the future

Please let me know

I am having miserable nights as i couldnt forget this thing
Its a class C misdeameanour

Pleae help me in this case

Not so bad, but isnt good.

Just reasearch this forum and you will find everything out.. but here is the summary -
Good

You will be OK as per existing law in getting H1b, H1b Extn, Visa and GC...

Bad
*******
1) Whenever you go for visa stamping.. you will have to truthfully say yes to arrest question on DS-156 form.
2)You will be Fingure printed and a security check will be done on you and it certainly will cause delays.. mostly from anywhere between 3 days to 2 months.. so when you plan to get a stamp, make sure you are ready for delays..
3)Keep a police report, court case dispositon and if possible court reporters document with you whenever you need to ahve an interaction with USCIS.. be it visa or entering US..
4)Even if case is dismissed, expunged.. deleted, for USCIS, case always remains.
5)Expect delays in GC processing.. you just joined a tougher queue.. will be asked to appear for interviews, more checks and hence more delays etc..

so as you see list of bads id pretty long.. but list of a single good should keep you up for fighting..
