congrats ViaPalermo!!! Enjoy your new status.

I'm happy for you! I'm still waiting.

Thank you all, I am praying that those of you waiting for their decision will receive the good news very soon.

Thank you all

I went to the DSO of my school today to make update on my immigration status with my university and guess what, my fall semester tuition went from $6,200.00 to $2,100.00. Do the math and stop by for your beer.
I also went to the local SSA office to get the unrestricted SSN and it looks like the USCIS has not updated my record with them yet so I will return there next week.

I wish everybody all the possible luck.

You saved $4100. You can use it to donate and help the poor and the needy people and your family members. It will be blessed and most importantly your new status will be blessed.

Assylum, You are a very smart person and this world with need people like you to save its humanity.
Thanks for your precious advice, I will take that in consideration.

Hey Raziel,

Is there anything else I should do? i e is there any benefit I should apply for?
I had health insurance already through my employer so I won't qualify for any medical assistance from my state. Also, my income won't let me receive cash assistance. But I cannot think of anything I should be doing as asylee now. Please help me with your Asylee things to do list.

google or bing "application for assistance food stamp health coverage "name of your state"" and you will get an application, download it, fill it and send it to your county department. they will interview you and ask you about income and your status.

bring I-94 and latest bank statements...

also contact "call or visit" http://www.catholiccharitiesusa.org/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=292 and ask them what they provide...

you will not get that much since you already have an income, which is much better than to be unemployed :) so enjoy your new life

apply for fedral student assistant http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ you might get $8K / year

Raziel,

I'm planning on applying for Grad School ( MBA ) next fall ( 2010 ). When should I file for Fafsa. Also, I haven't started applying for Grad Schools yet. Do I need to provide the name of the school in my application?

It appears that I will not qualify for any of the benefits listed in the approval letter. No problem. If I apply for FASFA I will not get reibursed by my employer so that one doesn't work for me either. I will just wait next year to apply for gc.
Thanks,
