What is the status of EB2 community from Jan 1st 2005?

As per new guidelines, All EB1/EB2/EB3 cases will be prioritized on labor date. Priority date for EB3 was announced to 1/1/2002. But, what about EB2 fillings?


In the notification it was mentioned as C (Is it means current?). Can some one explain what it means? How current works out?

Current means there are enough visa numbers available for your catagory. So for now if you are EB2 you are fine unless EB2 retrogresses.

Expect lot of EB3 filers with PDs of 2002 converting to EB2, hook or by crook.
EB2 will soon get backlogged by atleast 2 of those 3 countries.
Result some EB2 filers will try to procure PHds or publish research papers to get into the EB1 game. (Wish it were so easy). Result -> EB1 will be backlogged by applicants from those 2 countries.
