What is the stamping procedure in NY?

New yorkers, What is the stamping procedure in NY?
Should we follow the approval notice for date&location to go ?
or
Should we take the Infopass appointment for a Friday(I read Federal plaza does stamping only on fridays)?
 
If you are going for NYC, you don't need infopass appointment and you must be there only on Fridays.

Search for stamping experience in New York or NYC, you have some good threads out there.
