What is the procedure to use EAD ??

Hi.. I am into 5 month of I485 and have EAD for both self and wife. My wife
wants to work. Can someone please tell me :

1. Can she work without problem if she starts working before 6 months into
   I485?
2. What is the procedure for using EAD? Do I need to inform INS or Social
   Security office (since she is on H4 currently and SS card has \'Not
   Authorised to work\').

Please someone who has already done this please post.. TIA

1. there is no 6 month waiting period for using EAD.
2. Go to local Social security office and apply to modify the SS card to authorized for employment. Join the job even if the SSN amendment was not approved on the spot.

The employer will file a W-9 (i-9?) which will state what kind of status you or your spouse is in.

which date to consider for 6 months ? date when INS recd the 485 application ?

what all documents are need to get the SS card changed ? Even my SS card say that No valida for employment..... I am on H1 and wife is on H4. can you please post a reply.

You should update your SSN as you already on H1 visa. Your SS should state that it\'s authorised to work only.
