What is the average advance notice?

I was just wondering what the average advance notice was from Kentucky when advising of your interview date for consular processing.....is it a month, a week, two months? I would need to make some long distance travel arrangements so the longer the warning the better.

you can always call them or email them after the 15th of every month - that's when new appointments are scheduled. You usually know about a 1-1.5 months in advance. THe second packet may be late, but usually arrives about 2 weeks before the interview. You don't really need it for the interview, since you are going to be on the interview list for the consular section.
