What is INFOPASS?

I'm on 485 with ND/RD - June 2002

Can someone point me to what this INFOPASS thing is and what it means to me?

I did a search on the forum and could not find anything.

I saw the following news article, I'm confused as to what it means. Does INFOPASS mean that GC is going to be speeded up?

Infopass is used to make an appointment at your local USCIS office. It is much harder to get help without an appointment at local USCIS offices these days, so this systerm lets you make an appointment very easily.

In theory, this should reduce the over-night lineups often seen at the local offices. That's about the only advantage. It won't make adjudication any faster.

I need 'info' and hope to 'pass' too through InfoPass. They promise to give GC in 3 months. I have been waiting for 6 and half years!!!

I believe, Infopass is introduced on pilot basis in Dallas area. My file is now with officer and it has been there on his desk for last 3 and half weeks. When they can not process what is on their desk, when do you think they will go to shelves to pull your file?
