What is good timing for extend H-1

Hi guys,
My status is as follows,
I485-pending, WAC02132...
Got EAD, but work on H-1 which will expire the end of Oct.
When should I file for extending my another 3-year H-1

I'd say 5-6 months before your H1 expires. If you file with a decent time still available, you can continue working for 240 days. But confirm this with your lawyer.

CAn some one tell , if that 240 days time is applicable no matter what the decision would be (either approval or denial).

h1b extension...

I filed for my H1 ext on Oct 31 2002 and got the approval yesterday. It took more than 7 months for me to get the extension.

I filed mid Dec. 2002, and still waiting for approval yet. The processing time is very unpreditable
