There seems to be absolutely no rhyme or reason regarding the approvals coming in...

A August 2003 approval???? and on top of that a Nov 2003 approval???

What is going on.....

Will someone please TRY to explain these approvals....

Are they random or is there a trend..........

Now after seeing the approvals, I came to a conclusion that CIS is pretty much like a Atlantic City, so when you go to the city you know that you are hear to gamble and most of the visitors who come to the city go home with a sad face at the end of the day and very few lucky people with go out with a Happy face.

One possible explanation is that they are performing a cursory examination of all pending cases and approving any "simple" cases which are ready for adjucation right away. More "difficult" cases are being handled by subsequent "waves". What's a "simple" case? Maybe this depends on the citizenship of the applicant, the EB type and whether there were medical issues etc. -- I'm not sure.

There appears to be a leading wave at around Jul/Aug 2003 NDs (or even later), another wave at around Oct/Nov 2003 NDs and if you don't get approved in either of these waves, you might have a while to wait...

outrageous

USCIS is hurting everyone with their action. It is outrageous to say the least. This November approval may be because of priority date ...it is a substitute labor.

whatever it is they have to go by the actual I485 notice date not by labor date since I485 is related to the individual. This could be included in the class-action law suit.

Current trend of is like a "Jack-Pot"

In other words its a "Matka"
Jisko mila woh "Satka" aur jisko nahi mila woh "Latka" ;) :D

This is ridiculous. As a "owner" of long pending cases what can we do to make the case move. From my side, I have sent 2 expedite case requests (response for first one said wait 30 to 60 days and the second one 45 days. It is with an officer now and very close for a decision), initiated case inquiry thru 800#, sought senator help, applied AP3 etc. After all this not even LUD changed for our cases. USCIS sucks big time....Oh I even sent emails to Prakash Khatri. Has anyone done differently than what I have done? Just trying to figure out if I have missed out something.

Ok here is my explanation

Every organization has a spectrum of resources. Some are very good and some are really bad, and the rest some where in between. So the deal is how were your star aligned when you sent your application :) Obviously, effiecient fellas processed those approved Aug 2003 application, and since that is not me, the only logical answer I have now is that my application is some one who is not so efficient. I just hope that mine is not with a person who is super slowwwwww

Its a long story my friend. Please see my post during Jan-Feb 03 and you will get your answer. Its basically CIS mistake and they messed up our dates.

Need help1

How come you had only 1FP & your spouse 2 FPs?.

I think it is really not fair for people like you dear friend. I think you should send a PM or talk to Rajiv and ask him whether he can take your case as an example. If you read the 9/24 transcript, you will see that Mr.Rajiv needs some good cases to prove this point. I wish you good luck !

Guys,

I modified it further :D , it goes.....

Jabse laga mujhe GC ka Chatka
Mai Uske liye INS me dar dar Bhatka
GC ke chakker me khaye na jane kitne Fatka
Par aaj tak mai isme Atka

Kabhi kabhi mujhe aata hai Jhatka
ki aaj nahi to kal mai isse Satka

Phir badi der baad mujhe ye Khatka
ki GC hai woh Matka
Jisko Mila woh Satka
Aur Jisko Nahi Woh Latka

Guys, I am just trying to create a lighter moment in this frustrating waiting. Please ignore this if anyone finds its hurting.

Enjoy !!

My understanding (which may be wrong) is that the priority date doesn't affect the order in which the USCIS processes cases (they go strictly off the ND/RD). As far as I know the priority date only determines your place in line for a visa number for the green card (currently not an issue but might become an issue in 2005 when these might become backlogged for certain catogories).

I guess the main reason for approving the later cases is to improve their statistics. By approving cases with wait periods of just 1 year, the average wait time for recently adjudicated cases will come down significantly. Please see my comments on this issue in the following thread .

Dsatish, it's such a sneaky way to re-establish its reputation, but it's exactly what's happened here. :(
Thanks for the insight.
