Hi,
Perhaps one of you can help me decipher what this means:
My wife just called USCIS to start an SR. She is derivative, I am primary. I was approved in June 2005. Her case is as follows:

My labor jan 03
485 RD Nov 2004
fp 1 apr 05
case transferred to TSC in early apr 07 - got transfer notice
fp 2 may 07
Called TSC IO on 5th june 07 was told everything is clear (name check done, case assigned to officer)
Infopass 4th july 07 - was told everything is clear (same information as above)
In mid july 2007 LUD on her approved AP
In mid aug 2007 LUD on her approved EAD

She just called USCIS customer service - the rep told her:
1. your namecheck is still pending !
2. your case is still in VERMONT !!
3. If you have changed addresses, (which we did), you should double check that the address change request went through. (Which I think it did, because we got fp 2 notification at new address).
4. the SR went ot Vermont - that's what the rep told her. What do you think is going to happen ?

What's going on here ? Did anyone have such an experience ? Is there a possibility that the rep was looking at older information ? I mean even the automated system recording tells us that the case is transferred to Mesquite TX. This is really too much. I don't know what else to do. Last recourse is congressman's office.
Do you think it will help ?

Thanks,

After VSC service center transfered applications to TSC, Looks like TSC had some problems accessing information..

there are lot of conflicting information between TSC IO and local office representatives..

yours case might in similar situation... So ask your derivative to call again and find out of the information...

no_id,

Did your wife call the National Customer Service Center rep via the 800 number, or did she call the TSC directly using the POJ method? If its the former, which I suspect it is, I'd be of the opinion that you should not sweat it.
The 800 number customer service reps have no means to accessing your security check information...especially the name check. The ony ones who can tell you the name check status is IOs at the ASCs where you would go with an Infopass appointment. The TSC staff do have access to this, but they are, at best, unreliable and mislead folks intentionally at worst.
Moreover, if your wife did call the customer service number, the rep may have told her that the case is at the VSC based on your EAC receipt number. These reps have no knowledge of the bi-specialization program and the fact that applicants aren't issued new receipt numbers to represent cases now pending at the Southern Regional Center, aka, the Texas Service Center; and they might be just going by the Eastern Application Center (EAC), aka the Vermont Service Center.
I'd suggest contacting your congressional staff and/or going for an Infopass appointment to validate these things.
And no, the SR wouldn't go to VT. It generates a VT-based tracking number, but it goes to the center that your application is pending at...the TSC.

no id!

it is not new to me. the service centers will always confuse you. here is an example.

my wife's case was initially was filed at VSC.
1st transfer VSC--->NSC - July 2006
2nd transfer NSC-->VSC - Sep 2006 (I was not notified)
3rd transfer NSC-->VSC - March 2007 (the online message said)
4th transfer VSC-->TSC (June 2007)

Now one IO is asking us to contact NSC. But the phone message says that the file is pending at TSC. The online message says as of Aug. 1, 2007 it is pending at USCIS office (which office -- I do not know). So much confusion. If nothing happens in the first week of sep. 2007 I will start sending faxes/mails once in two days.

Thanks to all who replied.

I am considering calling myself, and having my wife on the phone extension and clarifying the information.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks,

I recommend sending a letter (mail) and explain all this now. Phone calls are quick but you never know if they follow through. No guarantee letters will work but at least there is a paper trace. Good luck.
