It is the employment authorization card that issued to you to enable you to work here in the USA.

Does that mean that we are going to have this authorisation after the interview or it is for AOS people only

Hello. The EAD is the Employment Authorization Document (it's a plastic card), which is good only for permission to work in the USA and NOT for entry. It is thus meant for people who are alreadying living in the US. It requires a separate application I-765, which is often submitted simultaneously with the I-485 Adjustment of Status application.

...and, of course, one does not need an EAD once he/she gets the green card.
