i called the emergency number (949-389-3007) and tried to inquire about my 140 app and they refused to divulge any info of any kind. But for 485 they were more forthcoming and did tell that my case was assigned to an officer on 1st dec. i did get an lud change on my wife's 485 app on dec 1st but not on mine or on 140 app. I asked if my 485 was also assigned to an officer and they said yes and on the same date.

An HR person from my company made the call to the emergency number. Here is what the women over there could tell her.

"the file itself was at the division ("division one") handling these cases. Because she recognizes the case is beyond JIT posted processing times, she will call it to the attention of the division handling your case and said they will notify us once a decision has been determined"

What is division one? is it a ghetto or some torture chamber for 140 applications?

anyone knows what this means?

i am confused. unitednations, badabhai, real canadian or who ever?

california_gc,
for 140 I heard that first it goes to Division office and from there it get distributed to a group includes clerk and the officer who makes the decision on your case, so to send to division office also it takes time and from Division to officer group takes time and from officer to make decision takes time.

Pl.post your RD for 140

Thanks,

>>They do this more because lots of layoffs in CA in past few years, also many startups dont have money to survive.

What is the "emergency"number ?

Hi guys,

I am new to this forum. Pls let me know what this "emergency number" is ? Is it the same as the 800 number you call to enquire the status ? My I-485 is pending at Vermont SC.

Thanks for your help.

Emergency contact: 949-389-3007

Be careful while talking to them. they are well versed in the law and you shouldn't try to extract anything that they are unwilling to tell. you can only get 485 info from them no 140 information will be revealed.

Division II: I-102, I-129, I-539
Division III: I-129F, I-130, I-751
Division IV: SAW, I-765, TPS, I-817, N-400; Legalization

Hi California_gc,

So it means nothing. What to ask the emergency number rep.
Should we say to rep. to notify the concerning officer about our RD as USCIS JIT date passed.

Thanks

i am surprised that they are talking to you about your 140 application. usually they talk to employer or lawyer never to the employee. if they are talking that is very good and ask them what is the holdup and how long will it take for the case to more forward. i am sure they have a canned reply but it might be worth trying. also ask about 485 application and see what is the news on that front. they told me that my application was with an officer but nothing more was told to me. i will call them again in 2nd week of january.

My 140 was approved, waiting for 485. They were talking about 485 only. Yeah, she was just mentioning about with officer and stuff like that. But since my JIT passed(RD jan 15), may be I can ask her to notifies to an officer

Any ideas what else to ask...

Thanks,
