What is District Office (DO) Processing means? i.e does AOS case will be sent to DO for some checks? If so, what are the checks?

Also how do they determine what DO to pick? (in my case I'm close to two offices).

TIA!

---- When they transfer I-485 to local USCIS office for Interview. About 5-15% cases are sent to local or District office randomly. They will ask for original Birth certificate W-2, recent 2-3 pay stubs, employer letter, tax papers I-94 and EAD AP, officer will ask if any arrest record after filing I-485 and will read the same questions as you replied on form I-485. he will check your original and will keep the copies ( better take copies of all the above) and if they need any more paper/info they will send with Interview notice . your case is transfred to the nearest USCIS office to your address on I-485

TIA!
