WHat is RD,receipt number is it the same as Alien number.

RD stands for \'receipt Date\' i.e. the date INS receives your I-485/EAD/AP application;

alien number is a 8 digit number starting with an A (it\'s usually referred to as A#); you will find it in your i-485 receipt somewhere near the applicant\'s name. Receipt number is the number you will use for checking the status of your case; in case of NSC, it begins with LIN.
