What is Administrative Processing?

Dear friends,
Some people are put under Administrative because of health problems, missing documents and those kinds of stuff. But what about guys who didn't have those problems, but still were put under AP. My refusal mentions only Additional Administrative Processing, and nothing else. Is it that people from certain countries have to face AP no matter what? What is this AP, and what do the Embassy guys do with one's case during the AP?
Your opinions and ideas will be appreciated.

The AP is a part of the visa processing that will give time to the CO and other departments to double-check your information and background.
I am not that sure about the reasons for AP but as you put it out-there, many are in AP because of health or documents problems. As also seen over the internet, many will face AP if they are citizens of a country were the fraud percentage is very big : US have to make sure that no visa or GC is granted on fraud basis. Also, many face AP because, along the interview, the CO received some mixed signals: peoples that looked ok but made the impression of over-preparing the interview and every answer they gave.
My advice to all winners who are going for the interview : act naturally and give simple answers when asked. Taking a lot of time to prepare a complex answer for a question regarding your own life will make the CO doubt the decision and put you in AP or even worst - deny the visa. Please take into consideration that the CO's answer is more or less final and his decision will grant you the visa or not.

You're right, but it's understandable that some people act a little nervous in situations like that especially when they really want something so bad and wanna leave such a good impression so might look like a little scared and not so natural cause not everybody can feel comfortable and not everyone is so strong. my friend when we applied for a J1 totally freaked out before the interview but still passed it was not easy for him. Such was he but i'm sure the COs can understand that. on the other hand I heard about a girl that was really great in English and a good, well behaved person but her mind got completely blocked at the interview for the same visa and got denied. it was sad but probably the CO realized that she wasn't ready for an experience as America or God knows what. So yeah we should all prepare well, but not too much, or on the contrary take this for granted cause we might get lost somewhere and lose the chance.

I am sure I will freak out in that very day when I will get my result as a selectee but I will do my best to calm down and act normally because freaking out will absolutely freak out the CO and one might lose the visa just for scarring the CO.

Well, I think it is possible. But your case will get delayed, and you will have to submit it later. But, I also think that medical is very very important, I wouldn't go without medicals to my interview if I was in your place. I would make sure that I did my medical before interview.

I am not 100% sure about it and you may have to search and ask around.From what I've understand from the requirements of the process, one must bring to the interview all documentation in need to back the requirements of his application (prove of studies or work experience in lieu, birth certificate, marriage (divorce) certificate and birth certificates of his children were applied, police clearance certificate/s ). At this documents they add the medical results (prove that the medical exam is passed). If no medical report will be delivered at the interview or you will try to delay the release of that documentation at the interview,you could get disqualified because the pass of the medical exam is a must for the visa clearance and they will not release the visa without knowing that you are ok from the medical point of view.

I guess it though been submitted every documents tht makes one eligible...one may be put on ap by the co....a really hard time of it.....and one was never old why tht applicant had been put on it.....out of 100..40 percent of the cases in asia n africa was put in this category.....only the us official knows the reason.......also it has been always a matter of wondering for the apllicant actually what the co do with tht case tht is subject to ap..no one knows....in ur case u have been subjecte for aap...so dont worry tht means u have nt been denied yet.....most cases tht had been in ap..was found to have been there visa approved....bt it takes time....n the timeframe of one case depends on circumstances of ur document provided..of minimum eligibility to qualify.... thhats all...enjoy ur life till the timeframe...by the way frm which region u have been selected....
