My 140 approved yesterday, it should have been for CP.

I want to know how do I know when it would reach NVC. IS there any way to know that about it. Some where I read that we need to fax a copy of 140 approval to NVC. Is is mandatory? OR INS automatically sends the copy to NVC? Is receipt number for 140 -filing (LIN****) is sufficient? OR We get any other number? Can any one post helpful information?

Thanks for your time.

No Title

You do not need to send or FAX anything to the INS at the point.

Do you have your approval notice yet? Only then will you know that the I-140 was correctly approved for CP.

If your case was approved for CP, the service center will transfer your case and file to the NVC without any intervention required on your part. Look at www.cptracker.com for the recent timing on this -- look for other cases at the same service center (presumably NSC in your case).

Once you are within a week of the expected arrival of your case at the NVC, you can start calling the AVM number, intitially using the receipt number from the I-140 approval notice. Once the NVC receives your file from the INS, all they do initially is enter minimal information into their system -- it will take a little while (weeks)before they assign the NVC case number. Again, look at www.cptracker.com for the timing of each stage after this. Once you have the NVC case number you should use that to track your case.

what is this receipt number of 140 approval notice?

My approval notice goes to my attorney. How do I find the recepit number of approval notice? Please help me.

My attorney will fax me a copy of approval notice once after he receives that. Can I find recepit number on that to start tracking with NVC. I applied for CP and it should be approved for CP.

Thanks for your time.
