What if my criminal check doesn't come back in time for my interview?

Hi,

I'm about to apply for the criminal background check which can take a few months.

At the same time i'll be applying for the K1.

I gather there'll be an interview where I have to present documents (including background check).

But what if I get the interview date before the background checks come through?

You can mention the US immigration file number on that application as reference for immigration officials.Also mention the 'reason for application' along with the consulate which is processing your application. Good luck!
 
A person on another forum just had her interview and she didn't have all her background checks (the one she was missing was from when she spent time over in another country). Her interview was successful, however the visa will not be approved until she receives the background check and forwards it to the embassy- so if you don't have your background check by the time of the interview, expect a delay of visa issuance until you get the background check to the embassy/consulate.
