What I can do while I730 is pending

I checked when I was with my application pending, and I am very much sure nothing has changed. The only thing you can do is wait to get it approved.
Here are the documents you would need to apply for a SS (c/p from their website)
Identity
Social Security will ask to see a current DHS document. Acceptable documents include:
Form I-551 (includes machine-readable immigrant visa with your unexpired foreign passport);
I-94 with your unexpired foreign passport; or
Work permit card from the Department of Homeland Security (I-766 or I-688B).
We may use one document for two purposes. For example, we may use a DHS work permit as proof of both work eligibility and identity. However, you must provide at least two separate documents.
Now - you have to wait for an approval in order to get your I94, then you have to apply for EAD, and then you can get SS. I also called the SS office the other day to check for myself whether I can apply with the I94 and passport (which is expired) and they told me I had to wait to receive EAD first.
Be patient! it will happen. Good luck

Hi, my parents have filled an I730 for me 2 months ago i got the biometrics done but it is my status didn't change, I also wanted to know if its possible to apply for a social security number while my case is still pending?
Sorry, your EAD card is the only documents that will allow the SS office to issue a card pending your immigration status.

Has anyone here had expirience to get DL in California while I730 was pending? My husband's DL has been expired on December. Can he renew his DL without status?
