What happens my wife gets called for CP interview before my I-485 gets approved

My I-485 is pending at TSC (RD April 02). I decided to submit I-824 for my wife to go for Consular Processing b/c we think it'll be much faster than I-485. What happens if she gets called for an interview before my I-485 gets approved ? Is it better to wait until i get called for fingerprints and than submit her I-824 ?

btw. my wife is in US now and she will get out of the country for CP interview.
