What happens in case you fail the test

Hi,

Just as a question, it is theoretical at this point, and don't want to be in a situation where I test the veracity of the answer, but don't think I have seen the answer here so would like to know.

What happens if you are good from every way in terms of eligibility and documentation but fail the civics test. Do they retest? Do you have to reapply after a given wait period, if so, how long is the wait period? etc.

If I were to pass and my wife were to fail or the other way around, and we happened to lose our GC's due to residency requirements at some point in the future. What would you need to do to apply for GC when/if you wanted to re-establish it.

If someone fails the civic test, they will be given a second oppurtunity to take the test, with a gap of a month in general. If someone fails the test second time, they need to apply once again paying the fee.

As for residency requirment, you do not loose your GC status if citizenship is denied based on residency requirement. You just need to wait until you meet the minimum number of days required to be in USA before you apply for citizenship again.
