what happens after NOID?

after you respond to a NOID, what kind of response do you get? Do you get a physical piece of paper in the mail informing you of the approval? the reason im asking is, after responding to a NOID in feb or march of 06, we did not recieve any written approval. however, we did recieve a notice for an interview.

any thoughts? please advise.
