Guys,

Could someone please tell me what the priority date is?

Is this the date the the perm was started or when the I140 was filed or something else? I hear a lot of discussion about this but I have no idea what it is.

My perm was filed on 24 May2006 and approved in June 2006
I filed my I140 in July 2006 and had it approved in September 2006.

I didn't file my i485 till March this year as I was getting married and wanted to put my wife on the i485 application.

I'm in the RoW category and as it seems everything is retrogressing I want to be able to read the tables in an informed manner.

Thanks!

For labor-based applications (EB-3 and some EB-2), the PD is the date when the labor was applied. This date is printed on the approved labor certification. For non-labor-based applications, the PD is the date when the I-140 was applied (typically the Notice Date or Received Date).

Thanks a lot guys.

So from this it still looks like I might have a chance in the next couple of months to get an approval.
