What exactly holds the name check up?

Is it that they are sifting through zillions of databases? If you have a very common name does that hold you up? I imagine the bigger issues are when you have anglicized versions of names from scripts such as Chinese and the English version is hard to pin down exactly who it is. I imagine also that checking with some countries is much easier than others.

I imagine I am just about the easiest case - I am, as far as I can tell, the only person in the entire world with my name (last name is rare - less than 200 people) and I am from Canada, with only one speeding ticket to my name there.

I should be a piece of cake, right?

I have an unusual first name and last name too....n never really did get any speeding ticket either.....as far as I know...its luck....

Enyways....dont worry about it....80% people clears Name Check....

I have a very unusual last name. In fact I am the only person in America with my name. My name check was not an issue.

That said due to my work I've had a FBI name check done on me several times, so maybe that sped up things.

Do you mind me ask you how do you know if FBI had check on you several time about your work?
Also, do you know what kind of work that will cause me have a slow name check as well?

thank you

I've had three last names in my life, and only one of them was originally in English (my married name, that is). The first two were transliterated into English. Well, good luck to me :)

I'll let you know if it's gonna be the issue for me :)

Because I have had to have clearance to work at certain NASA sites and at a US Air Force base.

Don't you need to be a citizen to work on defence contracts?

Is there anyone know when FBI conduct the name check?
I read in Washing Do interview letter thread, and someone said we dont' receive interview letter is because we get stock in name check.

Is that mean, they will conduct my name check before I have interview so right after the interview I will have my card already???
Like a lot of people they can get approved on the spot, is that because they already have their name check passed?

if so, that will be good, I dont' mind to wait a bit longer for my interview letter at all now..... :D

I don't work on a defence contract.

However I did need to be escorted by a US Citizen everywhere I went (including to the bathroom) when I was work at the Air Force Station (not Base as I incorrectly said earlier). In case you're wondering it was Cape Canaveral Airforce Station, which is where they launch satellites from Florida (not Kennedy Space Center, only the Shuttle is launched from there).

name check...

Guys,

Name check are screwed by USCIS officer, it takes the FBI about 48 -72 hrs to do name check, and electronically send back to the USCIS or sending unit. At times, USCIS will set on its fat and juicy pan cake, pour syrup all over you (we are waiting on the FBI), while they are eating themselves to death (creating more work for themselve). :

My name is very easy and only one in the world, AL BEAR ARMS. I know that the FBI has never done any check on me, I don't have a speeding ticket and when I travel, I travel incognito in the US. So, when they put it in their systems, the should get a clean record.... except from gun shop store...
